Description
Zea mays
Bred in Thailand at Kasetsart University during the ‘70s and ‘80s. Selected from a diverse mixture of 36 elite tropical populations. Has great yield, sturdy plants, and tolerance to both heat and drought. Stalks around nine feet tall and a solid choice for supporting climbing beans or cowpeas. Amazing disease resistances include: Downy Mildew, Southern Rust, Southern Leaf Blight, Curvularia Leaf Blight, and Northern Leaf Blight. Grain is light – medium orange and ranges in texture from hard dent to fully flint. Has been a fantastic field corn in Southeast Asia, as well as Brazil, Bolivia, Nigeria, and Tennessee. Highly recommended for Southern growers, especially where Southern Rust is a problem. Comparatively cold sensitive, so let soils warm up a little more than usual before sowing. 130 days.
1/4 lb packet contains a minimum of 250 seeds.
