noted for its dense prostrate form. The spiny aromatic needle-like foliage is silver-blue and earns purple tones in winter. Blue Rug is a female cultivar, and will produce blue-black fleshy seed cones that mature in two years.Best planted in
full sun
and well-drained soils. Drought Tolerant once established.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:Low Maintenance.Junipers are generally susceptible to blights, especially in unusually wet weather. Rust and canker may occur, though it is not serious. Potential pests include aphids, bagworms, webworms, and scale.
