Description
Mentha pulegium
Aromatic member of the mint family. Low-growing plant with long, creeping branches. Repels white flies and mosquitoes. Traditional medicinal and culinary uses but should not be taken by pregnant women. Sow on soil surface and transplant to moist, rich soil in partial shade.
Direct seed in early spring or transplant into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. It will need full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil. Water well to ensure good germination.
