Description
Phaseolus vulgaris
HEIRLOOM. A productive, bush-type snap bean from the Dark Corner region of upstate South Carolina, saved by Manning Farmer and his family for generations. (Mr. Farmer also brought us Cocke’s Prolific dent corn, a variety once thought extinct!) Compact plants tend to produce lots of beans in one flush, then stop producing, so planting in successions is a good idea with this variety.
Dark Corner bush beans can be direct seeded in the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Make sure to plant in full sun. Snap beans will be ready to harvest in about 50 days. 14 gram packet contains approximately 70 seeds.
