Description
About– This classic leek variety has white stems that grow up to 10″ in length and 2″ in diameter. A favorite of home and market gardeners, leeks are commonly used in stews and soups, but can also add great flavor to various dishes.
When and Where to Plant– In zone 6 and cooler climates, plant in early spring as soon as you can work the ground. In zone 7 or warmer plant in the fall.
Care and Harvest– Harvest at desired size, typically best when stems are at least 1″ in diameter. When harvested early, leeks can be used as a scallion.
