Description
Appalachian Sedge is a compact semi-evergreen native
grass
that grows in mounding tufts. It’s dense but soft-textured, weeping foliage is a mid-green. Scattered wisps of flowers grow above the foliage and attracts bees in late spring. Thrives in dry to average well-drained soils. Drought tolerant once established.
Can be used as turf replacement for shady dry areas, but note it doesn’t tolerate foot traffic.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance. It can be planted in near full sun if the soil is consistently moist but will have less color.Cut foliage to the ground and remove it in late winter.
