Description
Nutmeg is the dried seed of the fruit of an evergreen. Warm and sweet, nutmeg adds depth to desserts and savory dishes alike. Sweet and highly aromatic, nutmeg is especially good in combination with other sweet spices like cinnamon, cloves and allspice.
Whole nutmeg provides a more potent taste and aroma than ground, and gives you fresh flavor every time you use it. Just grate the amount you need with a microplane or spice grinder. Whole nutmegs store long and well in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
