Rumex acetosa
The herbal lemony flavor of sorrel makes a great addition to salads, sauces, or soups. A famed companion to fish. Will produce the most tender leaves in cool weather. Sow in spring or fall. Once established, can be propagated by root division.
Direct seed or transplant into the garden in early spring. Prefers full sun and well-draining soil. Water well to ensure good germination. Once germinated, sorrel will need at least an inch of water per week. Typically grown for leaves. Perennial.
