Description
Seersucker Sedge is a shade-loving clumping evergreen ornamental grass
with broad dimpled foliage that emerges maroon and matures to
shiny green with prominent veins. Delicate purple blooms appear in early spring above the foliage.Prefers
partial sun
and moist well-drained soil but can tolerate drier conditions.
Carex plantaginea is a host plant for several woodland butterflies, including the Appalachian Brown. The seeds are attractive for birds.
